Once I got beyond our unsuccessful cool-down of last night, I started the sprinkler system to do the first of the three-a-day waterings of our newly-seeded dirt patch, and checked on our various food plants. The gourds in front are growing by leaps and bounds, and one of the front tomatoes are turning red! The strawberries and raspberries are still alive, which, in this heat, is miraculous. I walked around to the back yard and checked on the Three Sisters. Poor things - I found them nearly dead yesterday even though they had been watered the day before. Guess it wasn't enough. With 95+ degree heat, I'm thinking their daily drink of water needs to be deeper. I did so last night, and this morning, they looked ever so perkier. String beans growing rampantly, nearly strangling the corn that hasn't grown tall enough to handle it. Gourds (various squashes and pumpkins) stretching their tendrils to find handholds. On the other side of the yard, our tiny eggplant has grown to nearly 2 inches long, and I swear our one okra plant has a okra-bud-thing on it! I nearly stepped on Mr. Frog - yes, again - as I checked the soy beans and carrots. And almost all of our tomato plants have beautiful growing globes. Our backyard grocery is coming along nicely.
After watering the front yard, I worked on the business a while - laying out the membership sites for both "Backyard Grocery" and "Kid Whispers". Other details. I love this stuff! Too bad the fibromyalgia and carpal tunnel are preventing me from getting done everything on my to do list. Vikki
