Here's today's "Take a Moment": Chores
If you can move, pick up things, or talk, you can handle a chore or two. My Son matched up clean socks as soon as he knew his colors. He also helped to move the laundry from the washer into the dryer, and set the table. Now that he's 12 years old, he empties the dishwasher every time it's done cleaning, he sets the tables, he cleans his room, cleans his bathroom, helps with gardening, waters the indoor plants, helps to harvest, takes his laundry to the basement, brings up clean laundry to fold, empties trash cans, takes out the trash and recycling, takes the trash and recycling bins to the curb on appropriate days, and vacuums as necessary. He also does other things as needed. He has almost always helped with chores (especially since Mom is disabled) and doesn't complain. Ok, much.
Whereas many kids his age don't have chores. Why? Everyone needs to learn responsibility and self-sufficiency. NO EXCEPTION.
So much to talk about
