Everstar MPM2-10CR-BB6
We finally found a portable air conditioner (at Home Depot) that actually cools down the air instead of increasing the temperature. It has a "follow-me" remote, louvres to change the air direction, turbo mode and more. It joined our family last night so Doug and I actually got a decent night of sleep. Yippee! At 97 degrees today, it's a bit slow to get going (room temp was 96 when we got home from errands) but 3 hours later, it's 10 degrees colder already! Yes, we love our new air conditioner and no, we're not being compensated for this paragraph!
As to our wonderful yard/Thornton code compliance problem, we went to Paulino's nursery today where a wonderful woman (Kristi?) gave us advice on our plans to landscape our front yard with two new trees and some shrubs. However, it's a bit more expensive than we expected. So after more errands, I got out the Burgess catalog and made plans for an order for tomorrow or Monday: yellow daffodil bulbs to bloom in early Spring, a hosta for a shady area, several of a Siberian elm hedge for two parts of the front yard, a weeping willow and a Norway spruce. Should look great! Hope they come in quickly so we can get it planted and everything can start putting down roots and growing before cold weather gets here (like that's gonna happen any time soon!).
Also going to put in an order for some Patch Perfect - that treated grass seed. Since our last attempt still didn't produce grass, we're hoping this stuff will. Wonder if they have a guarantee? Vikki

Hi,
Regarding your Everstar portable air conditioner, do you know exactly what the "Follow Me" feature does?
The only thing I know about this feature is that it shows the current temperature from the sensor in the remote itself. I know it does more than just show the temp. The manual is kinda vague about it.
The follow me function is basically that. We place the remote across the room from the a/c and click the follow me button. The temp varies within the room, so that tells the a/c when that where the remote is, reads 89 degrees when the area around the a/c is probably 3 degrees cooler. It doesn't seem to do much more than that. Thanks for asking!! Vikki
