Still playing photo catchup: From 8/18/08: The next four pictures are the four dehydrator trays. I absolutely had to start drying them before they went bad so we separated them by color, sliced and filled the trays. Added basil from the big bush in our front yard in the hopes to preseve it but, although it made the entire house smell like tomato/basil soup (per Doug!) for several hours, the basil does NOT like to be dried. Recommend it be crushed with olive oil and garlic, frozen in ice cube trays, and then placed in baggies to thaw and use later. The dehydrating took only about 7 hours with this particular dehydrator, which does not have a temp setting.
The next picture is from 8/19/08 - after I took out the dehydrated tomatoes and basil, I loaded the dehydrator with squash, zucchini, squaw-kini (cross between squash and zucchini), and sweet green peppers.
